Chandlers Red Irish Style Ale

Sept 7, 2013

Of all my beers this is the most asked for ale by friends and family. The recipe is entirely mine. Created from a selection of tasty malts and higher mash temperature, this beer is full bodied with a balance of hop flavours and smooth crystal and red malts.

This recipe was created from recipes of Red beers I've admired and the availability of malts at my LBS. 25% of the malts are flavour/body malts. I did make a Red after this brew based on my original ingredients and it did not turn out as well. The important aspects of this recipes is the high mash the yeast  fermentation at a low ale temperature.

This is the same beer I used to make my first Rye Barrel Ale which was a winner.
